Who operates the app

Bora Além is provided by Atypical Vagabond. For privacy questions, or to request access to or deletion of your information, use our contact page and mention Bora Além.

Using the app without an account

You can use Bora Além without creating an account. In that case, your quiz answers and traveller profile, your language choice, your arrival city, your trip settings (such as travelling with children or by car), the places you save and your draft trip are stored on your device rather than in an account. They are used to show relevant destinations and to remember your choices between visits. Relevant choices are also sent to our backend when you request recommendations or generate a trip, as explained below.

Removing the app removes locally stored information, subject to your device’s backup settings.

Optional account

Creating an account is optional. Its purpose is to keep your saved places and trips safe if you change or lose your phone. If you create an account, we store:

• Your email address and a password, used only to sign you in. Passwords are handled by our backend provider, Supabase, and are stored in a form we cannot read.
• A display name, if you choose to enter one.
• Your saved places and trips.
• Your travel preferences and quiz result (for example how you feel about crowds, events, effort, comfort, transport and your language), used to personalise recommendations.
• A link between your account and any correction reports you send while signed in.

When you create an account or sign in, the traveller profile and saved places already on your device are copied to your account so they are not lost. Trips are stored with your account when you choose to save them.

We use this information only to provide the app’s features. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

Information sent to our service

To load questions, destination information and recommendations, and to generate trips, the app sends requests to its backend. These requests can include your travel preferences, arrival city, trip dates, transport choices and language. They are used to return the information you asked for.

The app does not use analytics or advertising tools, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not ask for access to your location, contacts or photos.

Correction reports

If you choose to report a mistake on a destination page, the app sends the destination, the type of report, your message, your language and, only if you enter one, a contact email address. If you are signed in, the report is also linked to your account. We use this to review and fix the content and, if you gave contact details, to follow up with you. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a report.

Service providers and sharing

• Supabase provides the backend that stores accounts, delivers app content, calculates recommendations and receives correction reports. See Supabase’s privacy information.
• Apple distributes the app under its own policies.

Our service providers may process technical network information, such as your IP address, to deliver and secure requests. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We never publish contact details from correction reports.

The app can open external websites if you choose a link; those sites have their own privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

• On your device: information stays until you change it, reset the app’s data or remove the app, subject to device backups.
• Your account: information stored with your account is kept until you delete the account. You can do this at any time in the app under Profile → Delete my account. This permanently removes your account, email address, display name, saved places, trips and preferences from our backend.
• Correction reports: reports are kept while needed to investigate and resolve the issue and for any follow-up, then reviewed for deletion. If you delete your account, your reports are kept for that purpose but are no longer linked to you. Any contact address you typed into a report can be deleted on request.

Some information may be kept where the law requires it or where it is needed to resolve a dispute.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including in the European Union and Portugal, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, use our contact page and mention Bora Além. We may need to verify your identity first.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Portugal, this is the CNPD.

Children

Bora Além is intended for a general travel audience and is not designed for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account or sent personal information in a correction report, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the date at the top, and tell you about material changes where required.
