Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026, August 1

These terms are the agreement between you and Blue Tegu LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) for the Atypical Voyage mobile application and any related services (together, the “App”). Please read them — using the App means you accept them.

Accepting these terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.

You must be at least the age of majority in the place you live, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

What Atypical Voyage does

Atypical Voyage suggests lesser-known travel destinations that resemble more famous ones, based on a similarity engine that compares places across a range of characteristics. It also includes optional features such as the “Weirdness Dial” for adjusting how off-the-beaten-path suggestions are, and “Beacon,” a personal check-in feature described in Section 4.

The App is a tool for inspiration and planning. It is not a booking service, a travel agency, or a guarantee of anything you’ll find when you arrive.

Your licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. This licence is for your own non-commercial use.

You may not, and may not allow anyone else to:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits;
  • use the App in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or place unreasonable load on the App or its underlying servers.

Beacon and your safety

Beacon lets you share a simple check-in — a message that you’ve arrived somewhere or are okay — with contacts you choose. It’s a convenience feature, and it is important that you understand its limits.

Read this carefully

Beacon is not an emergency service, a monitoring service, or a personal-safety guarantee. We do not watch your check-ins, and no one is on the other end waiting to respond. We can’t promise that a check-in will send, arrive, arrive on time, or reach anyone — it depends on your device, your battery, your connectivity, location services, and third-party networks entirely outside our control.

Never rely on Beacon in an emergency or life-threatening situation. If you are in danger or need help, contact local emergency services directly. You are responsible for your own safety and for having independent means of getting help.

You are responsible for choosing appropriate contacts and for telling them what a check-in from you does and does not mean. We have no obligation to monitor, forward, store, or act on any check-in.

Travel information and your own judgement

Destination suggestions, descriptions, ratings, and any other content in the App are provided for general information and inspiration only. We don’t guarantee that any of it is accurate, current, complete, or suitable for your trip.

Travel carries risk, and conditions change. Before you go anywhere, you are responsible for doing your own research and for your own decisions — including safety, health, weather, local laws and customs, visas and entry requirements, insurance, and any official travel advisories that apply to you. By using the App, you accept that you travel at your own risk.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that doesn’t harm us, other users, or anyone else. You won’t use it to break the law, to harass or endanger others, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system.

Our intellectual property

The App and everything in it — including the software, similarity engine, design, text, graphics, the Atypical Voyage and Atypical Vagabond names and logos, and all related intellectual property — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These terms don’t transfer any ownership to you; you only get the limited licence described in Section 3.

Accounts

Some features may require an account. If you create one, you’re responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

The App Store and Apple

These terms are between you and us only — not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. To the extent these terms serve as your end-user licence agreement for an App downloaded from the Apple App Store:

  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App;
  • if the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App;
  • we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet a legal requirement, and claims under consumer-protection or privacy law;
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting,” and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any information it provides is accurate or reliable.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the App, including anything related to travel decisions or to Beacon. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law permits.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App or your breach of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or use the App in a way that could harm us or others. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity — continue after termination.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the effective date above, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local consumer law gives you other rights.
