The Dream: Travel, Culture, and Exploration
From the beginning, my dream has been to explore the world, immersing myself in the culture of every new destination I encounter. This quest took an exciting turn when I met my wonderful wife, who shared the same vision. Together, we dreamed of retiring outside the United States, seeking new horizons and fresh experiences.
Years ago, our family expanded with the arrival of our beautiful child, and it became essential for us to provide her with a stable education in the United States. Now that she’s grown up and embarked on her journey, my wife and I have transitioned into the exciting phase of being empty nesters.
Exploring the World with Atypical Vagabond
Our adventures have taken us to incredible places, including Ecuador’s lush landscapes, Costa Rica’s eco-paradise, and Chile’s breathtaking landscapes. Each country seemed like a potential next home for us, offering unique advantages and challenges. The world became our canvas, and we were determined to find the perfect spot to settle down.
Plans on Hold, Research Continues
However, life has a way of throwing unexpected twists our way. The political unrest in Chile and the global COVID-19 pandemic led us to put our plans on hold temporarily. But as any seasoned traveler knows, adaptability is vital.
Instead of letting these challenges deter us, my wife and I decided to channel our energy into research. Our journey continues as we diligently explore various aspects of each potential destination, from local cultures to practicalities like healthcare and cost of living. The videos you’ll find here document this ongoing research, our thrilling adventures, and my “atypical vagabond’s” unwavering pursuit of finding the perfect place to call home.
